Most of the time when I start up FO, it will show the loading screen, then put me on a random faction with insane resources, but there is nothing there. E.g. No units, bases, or even space. No map. Nothing! But the interface is there. And I have to quit FO I don't know how many times, then restart it until it finally decides to go to the main menu.

Help?

sounds like you are trying to start in the map editor mode of the game. that is usually done through a commend line parameter. how do you start your game? start menu?

I have put it on Steam. And that's what I launch it from.

hm, go get process explorer. search for "armada2.exe" in the process list shown after you have started it. double click this entry. a window similar to the following should come up. please tell me what the line says marked in this screenshot

It's really wierd:

Do you know what that means, or what I should do?

interesting, for some reason steam seems to add a command line parameter. you should double check the entry made in steam. but this is exactly what is making armada to go into 'edit' mode.

Lol. I found the problem.

The target line was:

"C:Program FilesActivisionStar Trek Armada II Fleet OperationsFleetOps.exe

Instead of:

"C:Program FilesActivisionStar Trek Armada II Fleet OperationsFleetOps.exe"

It was missing the " at the end.

Thanks for the help anyway.

 I remember when I did something that stupid when trying to load a map editor. I forgot there was no space between the / and the word edit.
