Shield Bug

I was playing a game over lan and one of the players complained that every so often, he would see 6 percen) get deducted from all of his ships and stations shields. I did not have any ships in or near his base, and i was not doing anything to attack him. Does anyone know why this was happening?

Oh I know the issue.  Its a good thing.  He just researched better shields and they get more space to expand.

hmm i didnt think of that... i'll ask him if he was researching shield upgrades at the time.

yes, sounds like that he just made that shield upgrade. nothing unusual there

Nope, i asked him and he said that he wasnt researching any shield upgrades. He also says that it happened more than 2 times.

so then, which race were you and he playing?

I was playing romulan and he was playing federation. In one game, i had an easy klingon ai and he had a medium dominon ai, and in the other there were no ais.

i all games he is federation? do you know if he prefers a special tactic, what types of vessels does he build? also, at which stage of the game did this issue occour? were there any attacks before this happens?

e plays federation pretty much all games. He doesnt really prefer a special tactic, just builds up and uses mixed fleets. In one game it was happening before he really got attacked, but it might have started shortly after attacking in another game. It will happen in early to mid game.

That is a problem with Armada 2 infact.  When playing games whether online or instant action prior to the FO mod my ships used to take a 50% sheild drop at a random point inthe game which carried onto the ships and stations.

ok, thanks, we'll keep an eye on that. however, its unusual that this issue seems to be only occurring to him. if you find anything new that could have led to this phenomenon, please let me know

ok, thats new to me. can anyone else confirm that? you mean in stock game?
