cool but as far as the patch I was having problems with crashing before (although less often) so I guess it could be the AI but I hope it gets fixed cause I have not finished a game since the patch, were as I was able to before once in a while.

I just noted that my G15 seems to be acting a little glitchy with this game and thought perhaps it was related.  Again...stragely enough...it does not seem to like Neverwinter Nights 2 either....

I have a g15 too but I think the g15 have nothing to do with that issue

probably I think its the AI causing that crashes :/

Whenever I play the latest fleetops version, the game crashes after about 10 minutes and my pc shuts down immediately. This problem occured with no earlier version. I have an intel quadcore running winxp.

Processor is irrelevant.

OS is somewhat relevant, what SP?

There *ARE* random crashes now, even on a rock solid system (at least CTD's for me).

More importantly, Graphics Card? Driver Version and a dxdiag please?

I will try to help.

I've noticed one common thing with my crashes:
Different maps, different settings, but one thing was always present: Federation.

My first successfully played map without crashes was with the Klingons and the Dominion, then i played Klingons and Romulans, also successfully. Then i played Romulans and the Federation > crash.

Relevant or not, i just thought i'd mention it.

Anyone else?

So many different incidents, and I can't see the reason in many cases. Most crashes when there is one hard AI, and mostly after 40min or longer. I think that the crashes amass, when the AI is spamming the map with too many ships.

Lately I played against medium AI and had no problems - most of the time.
So yes, seems to be a problem either with the hard AI itself or with the ship spamming.

Maybe there should still be a max limit for the number of ships?
Ah hell, no!
Maybe the engine/code just cant handle those hundreds of AI ships... funny however, i've never FO2 to have this sort of difficulty... even with extreme numbers...

I'm fairly sure the Armada 2 engine can handle it. I've played the Star Trek vs Star Wars mod with literally thousands of ships and never had a crash in such a manner. Sure the computer slows when the AI launches its simultaneous attack (which seems to run to a dependable schedule), but never had it crash as a result like FO3 has.

I give up... i just can't play it like this...
For me, the 2nd prize: FO2 ;)

I'm afraid the only way to solve this problem is to put a cap on how many ships the players and Ai can make at a time.  Just like the carrier and repair ship caps. Or bringing back the officer limit. I have already tried this on my version and it seems to work, although it takes alot of odf editing.

I noticed that there is a crash sometimes when upgrading a Borg Cube with Tactical armor.  It's not predictable, and sometimes causes graphics errors, sometimes causes crashes, and sometimes works just fine.  I haven't been able to figure out what other factors are involved.

The intereting thing is, that these unpredictable errors even occur, when playing as observer.
