Hello the names T-Man

I'm having a bit of a problem on my Armada II, and i was wondering if any of you guys could help.

For some reason, the textures on some of the ships arn't showing, so the ships are invisible. The game still recognizes them, and you can still see the lights that were on the ship and command them and stuff.

In origional Armada II (V1.2) the problem seems to only affect the Borg side (all of their ships and stations are invisible). However, when i was playing the babylon 5 Mod for Armada II, the problems were happening for some of their ships aswell.

Does anyone know what's happening, and how i could fix it? These are my specs:

SYSTEM:
Microsoft Windows XP Pro
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

COMPUTER:
AMD Athlon™ processor
1.39GHz, 480 MB of RAM

MONITER:
19 inch Flatscreen TFT

DISPLAY ADAPTER:
NIVIDIA GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU

BTW: I think Fleet Ops is one of the best Mod's i've ever seen (and trust me, i've seen plenty of mods in my time ^_^ )

First off, Welcome to the forums :tank:

Is it the unmodded stock game?

If they are mods, it is possible that the modders didnt model the ships carefully enough.. If that happens in the stock A2, or all the ships in the modded game is like that, I suggest reinstalling it, it always helps:)

For you computer, i dont think there are any..mishapes or anything. Its probably the mod or the game

Hmhhhh are you talking about FO mod or some other mod with Armada 2??
Because FO should be installed without A2 already installed and it's patch.

I think he meant a mod for Armada 2. There are more than a few mods taht are unstable...FO is the most reliable and never EVER crashes :D Way to go mates

Nope, the problem is with the unmodded Armada II stock game. I happened when i tested it out for the first time, so i installed the 1.1 patch, but its still happening. (that V1.2 in my previous post should be V1.1, sorry).

I've reinstalled the game, but it still happens. What's hillarious is other than the textures on the hulls, the Borg work fine.

Thanks for the welcome BTW

PS: i used the editor and placed all the borg fleet onto the map. The Borg Queen's Diamond, Diamond and Transwarp Gate do have textures. (Interestingly, i think these three use the same textures as their A1 counterparts).

Is it possible your installer is corrupted? Is this a recent occurance or did you previously have FO working?

Try to view the textures in the FO directory or use a model viewer. That would explain if this problem is with your game or if its happening when you render it.

It's probably not helped by the fact i've got two almost full hard disks with XP and the remnants of to other operating systems on that i don't even use anymore! i don't think PC's can get any messier.

I'm planning a reformat soon, perhaps that'll sort it out.

Problem fixed. For some reason bump mapping was making the ships dissapear. I turned it off, and now i can see them again.

This topic can now be wiped, it has served its purpose. Big thanks to everyone that helped me out! :D

Damn, sorry that should have ocurred to me.

Make sure you've got the latest directx and drivers i suppose. Your onboard gfx just might not be capable of bump mapping.
