mainly the ever so annoying "armada2.exe.manifest" file you shove in there... it just always causes the game to crash instantly on start up, specially in windows 7... So i end up having to delete it and then eveything works peechy again...

and before everyones digs at me abouy copy protection, ill have you know Doca Cola created a loader himself freely available on the good old gamecopyworld site... So dont say they dont support using loaders because they have made them...

and two i have to use a crack because currently on 7 no mounting of images work and second of all my armada 2 cd is old and aged and looks more wrinkled that me 79 year old nan...

I haven't tried it myself but I KNOW there are a few programs that work to mount images in Windows 7 even if daemon tools isn't one of them.  Also I've never had a problem with Fleetops crashing since they updated it for Vista x64.

the crack from gcw doesn't work fine.

but fleet ops don't really need the CD.  :innocent:

i don't care if anyone uses a crack/nocd or whatever as long as you own the game and you don't break the law in your country by using it. i don't recommend to use the loader i provided on gcw for fleet operations, it was intended for stock armada 2. use a full armada2.exe v1.1 nocd patched file instead.

fleet operations has not been tested with windows 7 yet. the manifest file is important for vista uac configurations to handle newly created maps correctly.

none of them support copy protection emulation which means armada doesnt see the mounted CD

i use a full 1.1 crack but the crack never ever works unless i delete the manifest file, it instantly crashes wether im in vista compatiablity mode or not... (this is most likely cuz UAC has changed in windows 7)

and the mpa issue your refering i take it is the fact that maps don't ever save... i was able to get round this by running armada as an administrator in windows 7...

yea, some people still prefer to run their system with uac enabled
you can actually play fleet operations with a nocd patch installed online. there shouldn't be version differences preventing that.

How about use an official OS and not a beta? How is it their responsibility to remove part of their mod if you're running a beta OS that you didn't even have to buy?

My game CD is scratched to shit. So I torrent A2 and install it, and then play via my CD because it still reads, it just can't install...and anyone whose CD won't even read as A2 is A very unlucky, a liar or has gone to length to damage it.

I love you bro, but seriously...how is this their responsibility?

woooooooooo i didnt say it was their responsibility....

i didnt ask them to remove copy protection from Armada 2 altogether i just presumed .manifest file was them adding extra copy protection over the default copy protection.... Which i can see it's not...

also i maybe using a Beta OS but when this comes out around Septemberish this armada2.exe.manfiest file is going to cause every single persons armada 2 FO to crash because UAC has changed in wiindows 7 and its designed for Vista UAC so its good to let them know the problem early on...

also i went to no length to damage it, i got the game when it first came out, hated it, never knew of fleetops at all until someone told me of FO V3 PR (i didnt even know about beta 2) so quite happily left the game to get slung round the mess that is my room for years among end (i do this with a lot of cd n dvd thinking about it) as i had no love for what was one of the worst games i ever bought (god lilttle big adventure 2 was better than that and i got it when i was like 10) so left it to rot, then FO made me regret ever leaving it to rot,lol

as soon as i have windows 7 on my machine i will patch fleet operations if there are any issues with it. however i am currently not interested in beta testing, maybe in summer or with an RC. and as long as only the manifest file prevents FO from running...no problem at all.
