Well, Gaius was an Atheist until he met Six, also, everyone honestly thinks he's insane (which he very well could be, I mean there is no way to prove that Six put this "chip" in his brain.)and then not all the people from the 12 Colonies are as fanatically loyal to the religion as others, There are other beliefs, but like Christianity is here, the following of the Lords are just the major religion on the 12 Colonies of Man.

Point is, Gaius is considered insane by well over 50% of the crew, and the either discount what he says to insanity or to his following of another religion.

Roach, the religion isn't based of hinduism that much actually, several of the terms used come from Persia, my signature says that, Kobol is heaven in Ancient Persian. The beginning of the show, showing Galactica and several of her crew members with the text "47,875 survivors" *next scene* "In search of a new home" *next scene* "Called Earth..." (Adama, wikipedia says "This text is updated every episode to show the current population of the fleet, a number that previously was visible in many episodes on the whiteboard aboard Colonial One." So apparently you were right about the text changes.) the musical intro is supposed to be a Hindu Mantra, however there are a bunch of things it could be, the season one intro was a mix of latin, gaelic, and italian  so it was pretty much incomprehensable, it was ment to sound like a religious chant...They pretty much influenced the religion from a lot of things ;)

there gods come from athens the kobol persia and music hindu. not to mension the cylons are all christian. it is strange for me because i am also christian to be rooting for GODDAM POLYTHEISTICS WORSHIPERS OF A PAGAN FAITH!(disregard my label)

Well, that's not true, the names might, however there is no belief of a hierarchy of the gods, like in ancient Greek mythology, the names derive from it "Sagitaron, Caprica, Tauron" but that's astrology, you know, Sagitarious(Spelling?)Capricorn, Taurus. That sort of thing, which wasn't first invented by the greeks ;) The Egyptians actually had it long before they did, however had it under diffrent names and functions.

The Cylons aren't Christian, they are simply monotheistic, they believe in one god, however their "commandments" are similiar, and the Cylon religion was obviously based off Christianity, but they themselves aren't Christian.

You should respect someone elses religion :P I have many friends who are Pagan, you hear far more about god in those religions actually then you do in christianity, because technically Jesus wasn't a god, He was the son of god, however many people argue he has the powers of a god and is worshipped like a god, and that's all one needs to be considered "God". I'm not going to get into that however, suffice to say you should respect everyones faith no matter how radical it is from your own. Paganism is just a term we use to label polytheism however that's not what it comes from :P It was originally a religion, that was polytheistic, apparently not generally accepted and therefore was used to generalize all Polytheistic religions. Hinduism is by the definition "Pagan" and I know quite a bit about it, it should not be so discounted because the Vedas (Hindu teachings, very VERY rough equvilient of the bible) has quite a few explinations on things that are left to speculation in the Christian faith, and since by definition of "Truth" The Hindu beliefs are more "True" then Christian...Funny how things work out that way huh? Annoying little quirks in religions always find themselves trying to disprove one another

Personally I respect the Christians who connect science with religion, there are far too few of you, the ones that say "Evolution is how god created man." and "How could god have said "Let there Be light" on the 6th day of creation, and a sun just popped into place, when we've seen a sun being formed in a nebula?" "Well, god obviously created a star using a nebula, and the nebula was completely used up in it's creation" Stuff like that impresses me, the Cylons are realistic about their faith like that, You can see in many ways that true learning is not what we're "taught" it's what we learn when we go beyond what we're taught, and look beyond our faith for the answers.

The Cylons do this, that was my point for writing all this, even Six said while Gaius was trapped on Kobol, "Humans didn't evolve here Gaius, look around you" *Gaius see's skulls* "Wha-What is, is this place?" "Human Sacrifice Gaius." "But, this place was supposed to be a paridise, are you saying the scrolls(in relation to the scrolls that make up several teachings to the polytheistic religion centering around the Lords of Kobol)are wrong?" "Yes Gaius, This place probably once was a paradise, until human savagry took over..." ect ect, That coversation is off the top of my head...To sum all this up, Cylons=Monotheistic, not Christian. Colonial Soldiers=Polytheistic, not Pagan. You shouldn't insult someones faith, no matter how diffrent it is to your own. Respect knuckles to the smart christians out there, Peace up! and I love all Religions, Completely facinated with them, NOT a Troll or a flame post, don't start wars over this, I'm not being blamed for that. :hmmm:
