crap. I actually have to save my games consistently in order to prevent a complete system crash. My parents bought a pc that only holds one gig of RAM, but put a radion.... 7200 I think in it. now the video settings are run by the card, which allows any game to be run at top graphic level with minimal lag, but the system crashes after about 5 minutes unless a save is made.

Would anyone happen to know anything about it? my step dad is a rock and refuses to look at it, any ideas what the deal is? cause as it is, this has been a big handicap in my ability to play fleet ops.

i thought 1 gig was enough to run fleet ops.

i used to run fleet ops for hours on one gig, and my laptop doesn't even have a graphics card.  :sweatdrop:

i think this 5 minute crash could be a different issue. maybe the memory is faulty. try reinstalling fleet ops. does this issue occur in any other game or program? if so try reinstalling windows.

also what do you mean by crash? is it blue screen? or just crash to desktop? or even a hang?

Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic - this is a good utility that can check for memory errors. you will need a blank cd and the ability to burn.

hope this helps  :sweatdrop:

is it an older computer or one of those stupid netbooks.

if you are running xp you MIGHT be able to get away with taking out one of the memory sticks (assuming your using two 256 sticks)  and run the game that way.  just make sure absolutely nothing else like AV or other programs are running as you will need every bit of RAM you can grab, a clean boot would probably help free up resources as well.  you also might have to lower some of the settings.  that should tide you over until you get new memory which is dirt cheap nowadays.  :)

it does it to all my games so its not fleet ops, and yea one gig should be enough and used to be until mys my step dad put the INVIDIA graphics card in. Also it is an E machine which I hate anyway so yea.

E-machine....

wow. Well at least it took an nVidia card.  What nVidia card are we talking about here? Also do you know how to check your version of the drivers? Never use the ones that come on the CD, they are usually out of date already
