Mulit-Purpose Weapon Issues

Hello all, I am new to this and I love it, but I do have an issue and maybe it's me just not knowing. But I'm trying to use the Multi-purpose weapon for the Norexian Warbird, but it's not working. I am cloaked and the weapon icon is blue, but they always decloak when I target an enemy or structure. Is there something missing?

Any help would be greatly welcoming. Thank you!

Multi-Purpose Weapons adds an extra Pulse weapon, it doesn't allow the ship to fire while cloaked. Of course the ship will decloak when you give it an attack order.
