First of all i'd like to say that i really like the new menu system (being able to see the maps while browsing is just great), the game itself and the graphics too (when i zoom in on a cube i simply can't believe it's rendered by Armada2 engine), it all looks amazing and contains brilliant ideas!
But let's talk about this little glitch now.
The menu of the game displays incorrectly as you can see on the attached images. It's not a big headache until the moment you want to go to the options screen, where the Back button is not displayed, thus i cannot change anything. Moreover there is a much more frustrating issue with that. The ESC menu of the game displays incorrectly too and i cannot see the Return to Game button, so whenever i want to go to the options for something or just hit ESC by any other reasons, my game is screwed, it's impossible to continue without that particular button. (i couldn't make a screenshot of this one, it's a really long an unimportant story why...)
All of this is caused by having Windows set to increased DPI display settings. Using the normal DPI settings is uncomfortable on my screen and i think i'm not the only one with this.
I have both Windows XP 32bit Professional SP3 and Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium SP1 installed on my PC. I tried on both OS-es and both have the same menu issues with increased DPI settings. My 3Daccelerator is a HD4830 with Catalyst 8.12, but i don't think it has anything to do with that. As soon as i set the DPI back to normal and restart my PC, FleetOps menu displays correctly. However, no matter how much i like this game, i wouldn't like to change my DPI settings for it.
I've tried disabling windows themes and disabling DPI settings etc. in the properties / compatibility menu of both fleetops.exe and armada2.exe but none of them fixes the issue.
The old Fleetops menu and the Vanilla A2 menu have no issues at all.
There was another guy named David Atwater talking about this issue in another topic too...
Another intresting point is, that the Instant Action menu is displayed correctly, while nothing else is...
So basically when you have Windows set to higher DPI settings, the whole FleetOps menu (except for Instant Action) gets screwed up and you will have buttons hanging out of your screen, so you have no way to click them & the ingame ESC menu doesn't display the Return to Game button.

Sorry guys, i don't know why i have 1280x1024 available. I don't even have my monitor's driver installed (i dont feel the need for it) but it's a Samsung SyncMaster 930BF, no idea if that has anything to do with it...
The videocard is a Sapphire Radeon HD4830 with 8.12 Catalyst drivers, most of the settings are on default.
And... That's all...
Hmm, but what if i copy the file which contains my settings and you overwrite your own with it? Won't it set the resoluiton to 1280x1024 for you even if it doesn't appear in the drop-down?
I don't know which file you will need exactly so here is FOData.xml and Settings.prf from C:UsersTyrelAppDataRoamingStar Trek Armada II Fleet Operations
Anyone fancy trying it, remember to backup your own files first.
Please note that FO stores it's settings in a different place on WinXP, the one above is the Vista location.
