What is an ldl file and why would you want to convert the executable into one? What are you trying to do? o.O
Edit: I just today thought playing FO would be pretty neat again and of course the game doesn't launch now, so I was running around and found out while browsing through the guide FAQ and help that the original armada2.exe was renamed to .ldl and is the one which has to be replaced fort he nocd.
Just rename it. Windows by default assumes the user is stupid and hides file extensions, so you might have to enable them.
