hi everybody i had armada 2 for several years but i only found out lately that you can get mods for it....i seem to b having an annoyin problem here....the game runs grand except for when either i build a ship, base or reseach anything.....also when a station is blown up it freeze the game for about 3 secs then it resumes.....also when the fog of war is on its very laggy when it comes to exploring new areas where the fog of war remains.....
any help would b appreciated.

welcome to the forums :D

please tell us your system specs to start with.

While FO has much better graphics than basic armada 2, that means it also has higher system specs.  Have you tried lowering the graphics settings?  (Knowing your system specs would still be useful, especially if that isn't the problem.)

slowdowns can occur on such events as files get loaded when a construction finishes (new build options) or a ship explodes (explosion textures).

you're right, doesnt sound like a specs problem. Try updating graphics drivers and defragging the drive with fo on it.

If it still does this then try changing to a different resolution in fo. Or fiddling with the graphics settings.

i dont think he needs to defrag. windows 7 caches frequently used files into memory even before the program requests it. so id say with 6GB of mem and if he plays FO often (which he prob has been since he discovered FO) that windows already has those textures etc in memory already. i know i dont have lagging issues like that ever and i have win7 with 4GB memory.

just my 2 cents worth

i know its probably not that but defragging will speed up file loading, especially when going online, defragging is free and everyone should do it.
