Increasing my FPS?

My frames per second seemed to have diminished a lot with the new patch, a bug? Or is my computer finally dying...

Regardless, any tips for increasing FPS?

latest patch totaly reinstalled the game so any settings would have been reset
so if u had set ur graphics ingame to minimum u will need to change it again (bar to the left)

Sorry, didn't mention that I've already switched everything back. My computer can handle max everything, it's a beast! It's an Alien Ware Gaming Laptop

well ive seen some increaced loading times on games and to be fair cloakings always lowered my fps alot but as it stands i havent seen any major drop in my fps and to be honest loading a borg base for the first time seems to be abit quicker for me with last patch
are ur graphics drivers up to date or have u updated them recently? (sometimes having the latest drivers lowers performance instead of improving it)  also defragging ur harddrive can help (indexing fleetops helps aswell coz then the comp knows where all requred data is and not having to search for it think of it as a dictonary without being in order confusing eh lol)
