I decided to create a poll to study further into this issue, please read the following before you vote this poll.

Summary:
Hardware Vertex Processing and Bump Mapping are always enabled. Unable to save disabled (unchecked) setting across game session.

Description:
By default, the 'Hardware Vertex Processing' and `Bump Mapping' options of graphic settings are checked (enabled). If you unchecked these settings and exit game session, you will find that they are enabled again when you start a new Fleetops session.

How to reproduce:
1. Start Fleetops, go to graphic settings, uncheck 'Hardware Vertex Processing' or 'Bump Mapping' or both.
2. Exit Fleetops.
3. Start Fleetops, go to graphic settings and see if these two settings are checked.

How to vote:
Vote 'yes' if you have this problem on your computer or laptop, vise versa.

How to report:
Whether you have this problem or not, I would like to know more info from you. Please provide
1. Fleetops version
2. Windows version, with Service Pack release if applied.
3. Graphic adapter, aka your video card, or integrated graphic chipset type.

This is a report example:

I can reproduce this bug on the following settings:
1. Fleetops 3.0.0~3.0.7, 3.1.0~3.1.5
2. Windos XP SP3, Windows 7 RTM (x86 and x64), Windows 7 SP1 (x86 and x64).
3. ATI Radeon 9700, X1250, HD5570

All 2 laptops and 1 computer I own have this bug.

These settings are not "mapped" on a setting file. Everyone has this problem.
The game does not store or read these settings from a setting file, hence why their status isn't saved.

1. Game Not installed - No "Fleet Operations" version defined.
2. Windows XP - Professional Service Pack 2 (x86).
3. I will tell you only in private about my Video Card, if you want. :)

According to Doca this should be fixed in 3.1.6 :)

Reproducable W FO 3.1.4 under Ubuntu Linux 10.10 using Wine 1.3.*.

Until I turn off bump mapping, all the models are textureless. They look like plastic. My graphics card blows.  :D.

yes, this has been reported before and is fixed in the dev version. actually this bug is still from armada 2. this will certainly fail on every system currently as the settings are never saved by armada on exit :)

Thans for clearfication. Then I suppose admins can lock this poll/thread when the bug is fixed and confirmed. :)
