Game crashes when researching new special weapon

I recently added a 6th race to the game.

I am stealing special weapons from other races.

anyways....

I tried testing out one of the research pods. I took out the line that it can only be built by the owner race. but the game still crashes when I try to build the research.

What should I look for to correct this error?

nevermind, figured it out. it had to do with pod hardpoints
