Hey guys,
I was deleting my computer of software that I downloaded and never use. After I did that, I figured that I had about 2 hours to spare, why not kill some J'mhadar. The game stopped working. I clicked on the desk top icon and the screen goes black for about 3 sec and then nothing. I deleted the game and re-installed it and still nothing. Does anyone have an suggestions on how to fix this problem. It would be greatly appreciative if you guys could help this newbie. Thank you in advance.

sounds like something fundamental went wrong with your system.
you could try to delete your configuration file, if that doesn't help i don't know a solution for you
You can find your configuration file under XP
C:Documents and SettingsApplication DataStar Trek Armada II Fleet OperationsFOData.xml
or Vista
C:UsersAppDataRoamingStar Trek Armada II Fleet OperationsSavegamesFOData.xml
note that these folders may be hidden in the default configuration of Windows.

well, i would sugest a system restore, itll restore what was needed to run the game, im confident that a system restore will do the trick, and if you dont know how, its pretty easyily explained

well idk exactely what it restores, but it always seems to work for me, one time, my d drive (cd reader drive) got deleted, (i might of done it on accident) yeah it was a big prob, the driver was just gone, and the only way to get the drive back on, yeah, you guess it, the cd drive, well it couldnt read it of cours,e but i did a system restore, and everything worked

System restore only back up drivers, the registry and certain extensions... (document file types are also not backed up).
It is unlikely that system restore would allow you to get back the missing files from FO as I highly doubt that is an "important monitored zone"

you can upload a
dxdiag file...maybe some drivers are damaged after your cleaning session.

*UPDATE ON MY STATUS*
First off, I want to thank all you for your help. I was able to get it to work again. What I had to do is do a "GO-BACK" on my computer, then I had to re-download the game. After I did that, the game worked perfectly. I did notice that the media pack slows down my computer, and it maybe just my computer. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

good to hear the biggest problem is solved.
what kind of slow down do you experience? the multimedia pack just adds new soundtracks, you can disable them from the options menu

What I have been experincing is stop and go type of movement. I think it is just my computer, due to the fact that I didn't hear anyone else talking about it. I also want to thank all you guys that created this game(mod). It takes it the Star Trek mythos to a whole new level.
