to balance this one could pay for an upgrade depending on how powerful the ship was before the change. so upgrading tavara would cost much more then upgrading akira

well thats not what im trying to accomplish with my mod. I was had the idea of the the avatar coming to take personal command of the fleet.

Similar to vanilla Armada II, and Picard in the Enterprise-E, Martok's Negh'var, etc.

perhaps instead of making the command ships superships, we could have them a few points stronger than the double gold bar rank of the race, with an additional special ability unique to the ship or race..

well thats what i was going for its not like the ships would have better weapons or something its just better officers

The 'Admirals Sovereign' for stock came with an ability called Fleet Flagship that was based on the Klingon Death Chant. That would be useful.

Similar to Serpicus.

I propose any battleship or heavy cruiser than has ACHIEVED (!) double gold bar has the option to 'convert to flagship' which gives them plus 10% offensive and defensive value and enables them to use the 'Veteran Leadership' ability to give a slight offensive, defensive and speed bonus to all ships operating within a certain distance of the Flagship and perhaps a race unique (but similar) ability ie.

Federation Flagship can call in a 4 point warp-in ( 2 ships) to it labelled 'distress call'.

Klingon Flagship can call for a pair of K'vort class birds of prey to warp in to it under cloak.

Romulan Flagship can call for a pair of Griffen class ships to warp in to it under cloak (regardless of avatar?).

Borg Command Cube can call in for a basic standardized Diamond to come to it under transwarp.

It was called the Fleet Tactical Command System...very cool feature..the only problem is that the graphic for it is hardcoded...so when the system turns on...it shows the same graphic for the klingons as it does the Federation..i just use a black TGA so you can't tell the difference

you wouldnt have to use this you could just use the ageans shield enhancer or whatever the other ships were called special weapons.

i am having problems with adding wireframes to the ships any suggestions?
