Federation/Klingon problem

My game crashes whenever I attempt to play a game as the Klingons or the Federation.
I have Win98, with 512mb RAM.

have you installed Fleet Operations over an existing installation of A2?

No. I installed a fresh copy with the ST:FO installer.

Indeed. I can play as the Borg perfectly, but nothing else.

can you play against an ai player which is klingon or federation?

win98 seems to have some trouble with Fleet Operations, but it's kinda strange the borg work an the other do not.. i am checking a few things.. i am working on an solution for this (on my win98 testing system everything works fine)

have you canged anything in the game options, like the depth of a map or something?

I'm gonna not change any game settings whatsoever and then try it.

Usually I have Lots of resources, faster ship buildings speed and that is it.

hm, should not be a problem.. only random map and similar things are disabled and will cause the game to crash.. but pls try it

This time, it actually loaded, then about 1/2 second after it finishes loading it gives me the same error as before.
