While getting my rear kicked by ray, I saw a bugg, that I doubt anyone else can repeat. he had high ranked akiras, and plasmacoil, but later the effects were still going, and you could see them over the fog.  took some pics, but the strange thing is that ray couldn't see it

they just kept looping, and it had been several minuets scene he had fired it

Was it still there when you got closer, after the fog was gone?

I've seen this too.  The Akira/Sang AoE effect will show up through the fog when you can't see it.  I think it even shows up when it's not actually being used there.  No idea why it happens.

Wormholes under fog look identical to it did when your ships were last in sensor range, so do stations. These special weapons are probably acting the same as them.

yeah, I think I've seen it before this too.  I would bet that it is just a A2 engine bug

It does fit though, the sensor data is out of date and a ship would need to go back into range to update.

Ive seen this bug happen with akiras controled by the AI....they will constantly loop their defense special animation. Though that was in 3.0.7 I havent really noticed it in 3.1.0 yet.

i've had things like this happen in armada I and II. for exaple, if you have a transwarp gate into a fog you won't see it till you get close to it, and then after that if you let the fog cover it up and then deactivat it, it is still there!

this applys to many special weapons, if it is still going when it is covered with fog, then it will look like it is still going in the fog untill you uncover it.

I've noticed something similar with effects which looked like the animation of "sensor blackout" of the canaveral class in 3.0.7, visible though under the fog of war and even marked on the minimap by a very small grey or white dot. I also think it has to do with something in the original A2 which hasn't been eliminated yet since I've had the same with the "premonition gate" and the "manheim effect" in stock.

I'm hoping it's never changed, it fits into the game well (Sensor data out of date and all that). We have no way of knowing if it was intentional or not when Arnada was first made since it only does this to stationary things like stations and wormhole, not static ones like ships.

Considering this 'anomaly'  "outdated sensor data" is absolutely appropriate and believable in my view.

yep.  I think I agree.
