Dif version of the game.

Yesterday i started getting problems with peoples host, they ALL say they are using a different version of the game.

I was on 3.1.3 patch so i dont understand what the problem was so i uninstalled the game and reinstalled it followed by the 3.1.3 patch but again its still saying they use a different version of the game, when installin g the game again i also got a bsod that said error with the cache manager which is odd since i have 4gbs ram.

This seems to have started soon after installing the vista sp2 update, but it worked earlier yesterday morning when i was on sp2.

I dont edit or play with the game files.

Did they edit the game or use 3.1.3?

1. Do you have a nocd patch.
2. Did you download a map.

Yes i use a nocd patch, what do you mean did i download a map, maps dont affect versions of the game?

I dont know what the others are doing atm, the only one speaking is sutee and its difficult to get any sense out of him, first he said he was using 3.1.0 then he said no 3.1.2 then he said no and then said 3.1.7 ...... then said o no its 3.1.3.

So i assume were using the same patch but yesterday there were 6 games running and it said everyone of them was using a different version of the game.

Your nocd patch might have been damaged or you may have downloaded a new/altered ODF (or unit that requires a special ODF) from a map. Map downloads only don't affect versioning if there is nothing in them that's different.

the nocd patches i know shouldn't give you a different version (fleet operations gives you an error message if you have an invalid nocd patch). i suggest you try to reinstall fleet operations

Ok after a 2nd reinstall and wiping all remaining files and folders, the game works again, thanks.
