I'm getting a weird crash. Everytime I load an instant action game and try to choose an avatar I get a crash and it apparently has something to do with this...
main thread ($1e4):
0063adaa +00a Armada2.exe ST3D_Sprite.DrawScaled2D
005058b2 +192 Armada2.exe CursorInterface.mDrawFramingElement
005053e2 +062 Armada2.exe CursorInterface.Render
5a9aa07c +010 FleetOpsHook.dll FleetOpsFunctionsHook 2186 +3 DisplayInterface_RenderAll_Callback
005988c8 +1a8 Armada2.exe Armada_RenderFrame
004838be +23e Armada2.exe Program.DisplayInputProcess
00559b58 +0d8 Armada2.exe TransportLocal.GameExecute
00487293 +1b3 Armada2.exe Program.GameDoOne
00486b44 +544 Armada2.exe Program.MainLoop
0047608d +11d Armada2.exe _WinMain@16
5a9adab5 +029 FleetOpsHook.dll FleetOpsFunctionsHook 4977 +3 DebugException_Execute_New
5a9adf13 +26b FleetOpsHook.dll FleetOpsFunctionsHook 5097 +75 A2_WinMain
006734ef +12f Armada2.exe _WinMainCRTStartup
768e3378 +010 kernel32.dll BaseThreadInitThunk
I've posted about this before and I've reinstalled FO and that seemed to fix the problem. At the time I thought I was using the wrong .exe because it worked with the FO.exe and not the A2.exe. But know I'm getting the same error again. Is there anything I can do besides reinstalling?
Note: the crash only occurs with FO and FO related mods, the 2014 classic mod does not crash.
I just reinstalled and even a fresh install won't work no matter which .exe I use. So now it's totally unplayable.
Please help.

Hmm... Do you have A2 installed, or use only disc detection ?...
1. - Reinstall FO property, try to use programs like "perfect uninstaller" and so on .
2. - Clean your installation disc property from any leftovers of Fleet Operations, and if you have Star Trek Armada II installed - clean that as well !
3. - Download a fresh copy of Fleet Operations from here, install it - (i would recommend that you don't install A2, just use disc detection) ...
4. - Try Fleet Operations before you install any other mods to check if anything is alright ...
5. - Try each mod separately to see which of the mods could be responsible for the crash ... - (I know it is the Fleet Operations that crashes, but you never know) ...

Works now. Just for reference which .exe is the correct one to use? I'm assuming the FO.exe right?

That's the one I use too. Although it seems like if I leave the game alone for a little while or play the 2014 mod then go back to FO I get that same crash and then I have to reinstall all over again.

Hmm, that's really odd ... I have to think about it ...
But in the meanwhile, before you reinstall the game agen, you may want to consider checking something ...
After you finish playing "2014 mod" and before you start playing "FO" you may want to consider opening your "Windows Task Manager" and checking if the "2014 mod" is actually closed !...
Sometimes computers ten to do things slowly, and not close things when they should - (letting them go in the background unnoticed) !...

Ok. I thought it was kinda weird how all the FO mods and stock FO would give me this crash but 2014 or 2013 I had earlier would work just fine.
