This has nothing to do with Circumvention, so lets just throw that out there at the beginning.

I own a legitimate A2 CD.

When I Install F.O. Everything seems to install OK, but after I get thru the lobby and into either I.A. or MultiPlayer, it demands I put in an original A2 CD, which I can understand, you have to check that I own a valid license.

I Insert the genuine CD but F.O. doesn't see it, & Just keeps prompting me for the disk check.  I have had F.O. Installed for a few weeks now, and have never gotten to launch a mission.

I have also tried the NoCD for A2, as a workaround, but it didn't work.

I'm running W7U-x64 , Legal, on a C2D-8400 /3.0GhZ with 4gb Ram and onboard Video (DG45 chipset)

Anyone have any suggestions ?

In this case a DirectX log would be helpful

click the Start Button on the taskbar. In the search box type dxdiag. Press Enter key. Wait until the program is loaded, then, on the bottom of the window, click Save All Information... save the file and attach it to the forum please.

Use the file attachment feature of the forum (expand "Additional Options.." in the reply form - not quick reply), please don't post the file contents as text.

Ran it in both modes, std and x64.

thank you.
you seem to have two optical drives. have you tried to insert the CD in the second drive, too?

This is really driving me crazy as I would like to convert my own Mod-in-Progress to run on F.O.

I Installed F.O. 3.23 to C:FO3 to keep the pathnames short. Then I installed the 3.26 Patch.  I never installed the F.O. Multimedia Package.

Thanks,
I'm anxious both to try it out, and to start modding again.  I haven't touched my own mod since I decided to port it to F.O.

just throwing it out there but have you tried making a Image of you disk? i allways use an iso file instead of my CD.. also in many countries it would not be illegal to dowload a "warez" iso file if you allready have the original..

have you tried deassigning one of your drives' letters, then using the other one with the cd?

also, probably unrelated, if you're trying to play against the ai, why have you created a multiplayer match?

Have you tried mounting it as a virtual drive?  I did that so I don't have to worry about breaking my copy and it saves power on my laptop.  Also, what are your drive letters?  D:, F:, I; etc.  I wonder if it is a letter that a2 doesn't recognize.

he's using E and F for his 2 drives according to the dxdiag report.

my virtual drive uses e with no problem. i currently don't have a drive assigned as d, i don't have a physical drive at all.

please insert your armada 2 cd and run the test application attached to this post. Can you copy/paste the result for your optical drive please?

No, I didn't think of De-assigning drives, I will have to explore that one; A2 runs perfectly well with both, though.

IA and Multiplayer both do the same thing, and Single Players not enabled yet, we have no map/storyarc.

I Haven't tried that yet, either, I'm a bit leary of warez and torrents, you never know what you're REALLY getting.  and I'm in the IT field, I can't afford to get burned.  but I can make my own ISO and give that a whirl, thanks for the Idea

Result of Test; don't know where you were going but the CD volume is correct. I'm wondering if it's having an issue because both ODDs are burners and neither's a ROM ?
