i'll put a todo up as i am neither aware of an issue with that weapon nor have seen it on the fixes list for the upcoming patch.

oh, right. that nasty thing.. i will ripp it off!

nah, just jocking :) i'm working on a redo for cloaking and detection altogether, so it will be "replaced" either way :thumbsup:

  Cool. I hope that automated detection won't be possible anymore. If you want to find a cloaked ship, scan. That way the cloaking will be a formidable weapon even after cloak research will be done.  :sweatdrop:

Automated detection should stay for Sensor stations, those things are designed to scan constantly for inruders.

Hmm, would be cool if the sensor stations periodically scanned... as in every few seconds (10's of seconds perhaps) so that you could still evade the stations, but if you left your ships there then they'd be detected :)

I wonder if all the Sensor arrays could get an ability similar to a smaller version of the Hyperspace Sensor Systems 'Active Tachyon Scan'?

As soon as you activate (build) the station, it looks for cloaked ships and then automatically repeats the cycle after the Special Energy recharges. The best Special Energy display would be the one a Fightercarrier uses.

Maybe sensor stations could have a sensor sweep. That is they detect cloaked vessels in a radius, but there is a rotating arc of detection (similar to radar). That way they would still detect passively, but a good player could get a cloaked ship through. Probably completely un-trek, but oh well.

That would be most interesting Megadroid...do you think that is possible to do in FO in any case? I think it is highly unrealistic unfortunately (just like that stupid Battlestar  DRADIS system)... and thus I'd still prefer a pulsed intermittent scan honestly  :sweatdrop:

EDIT: I'm pretty sure Unleash Mayhem (as far as I remember, I've done that myself to see when to destroy support ships)  ^-^

Not sure about how possible it would be. Yes, pulsed scan would be easier to add and fit better into the game. Just throwing ideas around :)
