Can I use Fleet Operations Graphics in Orinignal?

I've been trying to figure it out, and just can't. Can I play the original game through the FO program? Is there anyway to experience the missions and story of the first with the improvements made by FO? I know the resolution and improved graphics would be great, not to mention the other improvements. I don't mean skirmish matches, I want to play the actual story of the Startrek Armada 2 with the improvements of FO. Thanks for any help. If no, then is there a way to get high resolution at least? Perhaps use some of the textures and other graphic improvements of FO? I appreciate any help given. My brain is about to go into crazy town trying to find answers. I can't bring myself to play the original in its present form after experiencing FO.

The A2 Classic Mod ports all of A2 (including the campaign) back into Fleet Ops, but it uses stock A2 graphics. The new features (widescreen, code improvements, etc.) are still usable, though.
If you want to use the FO graphics with the Classic Mod, you would need to mod Classic to make it use the FO models and textures. This isn't particularly difficult but it is rather time consuming. A word of warning if you try that; not all A2 ships are included in FO and therefor don't have fancy FO models, with the Aegean being a good example. Certain factions, like the Cardassians or Species 8472, are completely missing and the Borg lack yards. Some of this could be worked around by using models that are close enough (e.g. the Remore could replace the Aegean) but others would probably be stuck with the A2 graphics.

thank you for the quick reply. Are there any other mods that do a graphic upgrade to the original armada 2? I like Fleet Operations, but I'm willing to settle for something less if I have to, thanks.

You could try the Armada 2 Upgrade Project Vanilla Ultimate 2.0 mod for stock Armada 2 here: http://armada2.filefront.com/file/Armad ... mate;95978
It makes everything look better with the exception of ship/station models/textures so mostly backgrounds/space bodies/effects. I'm afraid you'd have to upgrade each ship/station independently.
On the same site, Dan1025 completely redid the Cardassian race, Aad Moerman redid everything for the Borg, Feds, Klings and Roms and Chiletrek redid everything for Species 8472.
Of course there are many other talented modders who did individual ship/station mods, total conversions etc, that you could try.
