Ohai everyone

So I have been playing FO3 for quite a while now so when I saw the latest version I was pretty excited about it so I download it and install it. Then I try to run it and I get an error;

---------------------------
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
---------------------------
Runtime Error!

Program: C:Program Files...dataArmada2.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

So I think, ah, ok then. I'll simply uninstall it and then reinstalled it to a (new) completely different folder. I did this process 5 times, twice loading from an allready present (clean and working) Armada 2 directory and 3 times loading from my Armada2 CD. I got the same issue everytime. I checked with a friend of mine and he suggested a couple of things that I have tried and did not help.

1) Check disk
2) Install the latest C++ redistributable package

I am running XP SP3, I have 3GB of RAM and over 100GB of empty Hard Disk space. Anyone able to help? I will reply to any messages asking for more system information as soon as I can because I really want to get this thing working.

You might have a corrputed C++ installation? Idk if you can uninstall that and try to reinstall it again?

that is the first time i hear about such an issue.
after some googling it seems that this is a more general error that is not directly related to fleet operations.
there is an official support article from microsoft available regarding your problem, that may help you: You receive a "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" error message when you run a custom Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 program in Windows XP

Usually this error pops up when the file Dynamic_Localized_Strings.h or any other header file has been edited and a semi colon was misplaced. I take it that file has not been edited though?

hard to tell what is now causing the issue for you. it is not directly related to fleet operations but seems to be a general problem with the os.

In this case a DirectX log would be helpful

XP: click Start - Run type dxdiag click OK. Wait until the program is loaded, then, on the bottom of the window, click Save All Information... save the file and attach it to the forum please.

Have you tried uninstalling AvP then restarting?
Possibly also uninstall FO before restarting, check the uninstaller hasn't missed anything, then after restart reinstall :)
