Borg nanites - i infected myself

When playing as borg today, I ended up crossing over my own field of nanites. Only I was borg.. I ended up getting infected by my own nanites 

is this normal?

Yes, I mentioned it before... and ironically I think Serpicus was the one who thought it was funny
