Hmmm.... maybe it is possible to have the AI linger on earlier classes. This would then open up oppertunity for other races to already set larger chassis into major production before the Borg Diamonds and Cubes come out.

Okay boggz, thanks for the diss but your an idiot mate. I'd like to see you beat a Hard AI Borg with the feds. By the time you have a ship yard up they have a fleet on your base. So let me clarify something, I don't take my time. I am a good gamer and if something is off in the game, you can bet that I'll find it.

So please, keep that sort of a remark to yourself, it isn't constructive and it really doesn't contribute to the thread. Thank you for the input, now hold your tongue lest I have to do so for you.

Lol okay let's just reign it back a bit here.

It was not a personal attack, buddy.  Just a comment many of us make when we feel people bring up a scenario that well ... really shouldn't be fixable.  If you're facing 20 Cubes I don't think there really IS a way to stop that by yourself.

You asked why the AI has to "cheat".  It's because the AI does not know how to make the choices that we can make in order to build the ships.  Thus it doesn't take as long and they don't have to rebuild them.

HARD AI is tough, yes, but it won't get Cubes as fast as the Merciless AI will.  I'd be happy to beat a Hard AI with Feds.  Though harder would be beating them with Romulans.  Point is, it wasn't personal it's just an expression :D

Oh, and please take note of the smilies like this one --> :D <-- they generally mean what they look like.  Don't take it personally.

MOST people do not beat a merciless Borg AI unless they are Mayson Feds.  You're not supposed to be able to.  Lol.  That or they need a teammate.

  :D :D :D Oh, and are you ACTUALLY threatening me via an internet forum-thread?  :D :D :D

If you are gonna threaten, at least use a smiley that conveys your ferociousness   <-- this one's MY favorite

you're totally right man, I was on edge the other day. sorry for over reacting. I'm a very defensive player and prefer to use small groups to handle strategic targets, thus I am a little slow at building up my forces.

Sorry again boggz.

No problem brotha man!

The AI cheats because it has to.  The nice thing is that playing a Merciless Borg all by your self can really make you feel like you've accomplished something hard.  With Romulan's it's damn near impossible.

Aww, I wouldn't say that - all you need is a nice force of spectre and support refits and it's all set. Of course, depends on the size of the map. With Yandon's choice, it's doable. With an 8 player map... yeah, it's damn hard :)

Aye.  That early game is tough though.  If you survive the first few onslaughts you gotta push that advantage quickly before the hordes of Borg come out.  Your only chance then is to field a lot of firepower and keep it out there with support refits healin' everybody :).

Although.  There is something REALLY satisfying about watching 20 Serkas roast an assimilator in a single volley.

Silent Resolve FTW! Well, that's always fun to use to toast main bases  :D . The good thing about any of the factions is that if you keep shaving down the Resource Assimilator's, Nodes, and Collective Uplinks, the AI does not go up very high in the tech tree... the bad thing is that can be quite painful

I figured that if you want to have a chance you need to immediately put pressure on their resource points outside of their base since they seldom defend it early on, once you take out the first resource node they don't build another for some reason and have their miners commute, this puts a hitch in their production capabilities, if only a minor one.

How do I get this to run online, game spy is retarded and won't let me make a prof.

Do you mean play with/against others? This should help. Just download and add all (either manually or using Tom's tool which is here :)
