Is there any known issues for win 7? It's what I have on both the lappy and the base unit. Not sure if the lappy will play it.

Also, with A2 files gone where does one find the latest patch For armada 2? I can't even remember if the game got an official patch...I think I played it stock only and for the single player campaign and never really liked it enough to get into mods with it. I'd like to try this fleet op mod though, looks like you guys got some cool ships in there.

Most people have gotten A2 working on 7, either completely stock or with the unofficial 1.2.5 patch made by the FO team. I seem to be missing the patch, though. A more reliable method would be to install FO instead and use the Classic Mod. A couple aesthetic bits are different from stock, but the gameplay is identical.

what about the official patches? Are there any? I like some of the models I've seen so I want to try the newest fleet ops. I don't know what other mods are available for A2, or for that matter if anyone is doing A1 mods any more, I used to love playing A1 and mp1.9se. I should fire these up again because it's probably been 10 years since I played them.

There was a 1.1 patch for A2. 1.2.5 includes it. With A2Files gone, your best bet for completed A2 TCs and general A1/2 mods is probably Armada Fleet Command.

To get A1 running on 7, you'll need both the official 1.2 patch and the unofficial 1.3 patch.

Cool, so as far as A2 is concerned I install the game, the patch and then the current fleet ops and I am ready to go?

Any way to know if my labtop will run it? I don't think it likes bridge commander...

Install A2, install the patch, and A2 will run. If you want FO, just insert the A2 disk, run the FO installer, and tell it you have a disk when prompted. FO will install to a new directory rather than installing over A2.

Whether or not your laptop will run it is a complete mystery. I don't think any one has figured out what does and doesn't make it work.

well I am getting a folder with the armada disk image and a red x by it. and the patch will not install. Even selected the directory manually. and ideas?

ok nevermind the memory issue. Will fleet ops allow for single player with modded items? Just wondering. Going to try a game tonight and see if everything runs ok.
