Armada 2 Campaign

i recently dug Armada 2 out of boxes and came across fleet ops when finding ways to play it again. I like the fleet ops version, especially the addition of the dominion forces. now to my question/dilemma, i would like to be able to play the single player campaign, is it possible to do so in Fleet ops? i am using Widows 8 pro, 12 gb ram and i7-3610QM processor, Nvidea G670M gpu.

welcome to the forum.

to expand on that answer, not yet. fleetops doesn't have its own campaign, i'm not sure whether or not the classic mod for fleetops will let you play the stock a2 campaign. but even if it does allow that, there's no point, it won't be any different from playing it in the original game. so you might as well just install a2, play the campaign, then uninstall.

to remake the a2 campaign with fleetops improvements would have to be done in Megadroids Mission Mod. which requires knowledge of lua.

i did a standard install and it won't work with windows 8, i saw several people with the same problem in other forums here and the only thing i saw that would allow A2 to work with win 8 is through fleet ops. i tried running it in compatibility mode and the oldest OS it shows in XP service pack 3, it will open with that then immediately crash. i may have over looked something. i like skirmishes but i also like a good campaign game too.

i found my answer in another forum thread and it works great now. thanks for your help and keep up the great work with fleet ops.

Just out of interest, what was the solution? I've had no luck getting A1 or A2 to work on Windows 8....

there is a couple threads that helped me titled "windows 7 issues" a couple threads before this one in the list, and "cant install classic mod, nothing under "options", that helped me and give better details and instruction than i could give, it is on the next page of threads after the page that this one is listed on. you will need to download a few files, and you will need the official patch1.1 installed before the "armada 2 patch project" is installed. after creating a "mod" and moving things around like it said in the second thread i mentioned it worked perfect and i played for about 2 hours with no issues. i no longer have armada 1 so i do not know if this will work for it or not but I'm sure some of the moderators and developers here can help with that.
