My strategy for Fed

My strategy for the Federation is to advance up the techtree as fast as I can, and build ships with large crews for troop transports, while guarding them with a fleet of Exelsior2's and Defiants and Ventures. I then take over enemy construction ships and use the technological gain from them to build enemy superweapons and obliterate their bases.  The reason I use the Feds for this strategy is 1 reason: Descent Classes. It's pretty much a mobile Starbase. If anyone can help me with this strategy, do so. :borg:

Don't forget the Newton Class, not only does it repair your fleet but it will repair captured Constructors, making it less likely that the enemy will blow them up before even returning it to the base. Plus, they can fight!

As it is now...small ships have every advantage.

Range, Speed and the ability to 'cluster' or to get more firepower on one point.

If you have to spam Use the Sabre's  and the Newtons  along with the Steamrunners and the Akira's. The saber's because  the are small have a good rate of fire  and are easy to manuver in tight spots. Newtons to help the sabers survive  the fray , with the Steamrunners and the Akira's giving supporting fire.

I do. I never finished this one because I had to sleep, but I use the Sovereign's Engine Distortion Wave to disable Enemy vessels, Defiant's Critical Shot to disable weapons, and, from a safe distance, the Intrepid's Tricobalt Torpedo to finish them, along with Carriers to cover my flank.
