I have to say that I am actually surprised by how quickly this one wrote itself... so I proudly present a strategy guide for the Federation! Yet again, I'd really like to hear your collective thoughts on the ideas gathered here.... as I suspect that the Federation is quite popular amongst the Forum members  :shifty: .

Please enjoy and give me your feedback  ^-^

EDIT: as a qualifier, I should mention that all four (currently) guides should be read as a set (and probably in order). Obviously the General Tips guide should be a good first introduction... and then the Romulan, Borg, and now Federation Guide.

Mal's gonna be releasing a Dominion one soon, but depending on the type of guide I may write my own as well.  :D

One note dom you do not need sf enginerring to build norways
Upon the completion of Starfleet Engineering, you will be able to begin building Norways
You only need sf science

oops one other note
Make sure to research Plasma Coil at Starfleet Engineering

You mean SF science here too.

Thank you so much! i've sent it to my brother, who will hopefully learn a lotfrom this guide. Not to keep jerking youi around with the format, but i just realized that an RTF fie should work because everybody with windows has word pad and it should offer you enough features to mjake nice guides. That way you only have to save one format.

Thanks Dircome; I must have "re-corrected" wrong actually

@RCIX: I think I'll stick to Word and PDF for the moment, but maybe at some time in the future I'll change over  ^-^

A new version will be posted shortly; working on some additions  :sweatdrop:

EDIT: Version 2 posted

Thank you both  :woot:

Lemme know what you think Galefury; in general if anyone notices that these strategies have issues or someone has come up with something new to defeat you... describe it to me and I'll test and splice in something to help  ^-^

Good guide, i'm currently digesting it and testing some of the build orders and tactics (as well as the more general strategies) that were suggested for the guide.

Once i've done that i will post my thoughts in greater detail, however you had expressed concern about a lack of critique so i thought i would let you know that i have read it and am now starting to pick it apart to post my thoughts (which seem good for the most part at this moment in time)

Thank you again.

Hi, iam new to the forum and i registered to read some of the strategy guides and found them very usefull, thank you.
I just played 4 games now against the ai, which has become pretty challenging. Since the officers do no longer limit the production of ships i thought i would be able to build up massive fleets, but i just recognized that the fleets size is limited by supplies.

I only played als the Federation so far and i have one question:
How do i regain supplies? I allways have the problem, that i cant rush the ai as effectively as a experienced player would do, so i allways get into the late game and suffer from limited supplies.
Once i star loosing ships i can not recreate them, i can only try to use warp-in ships to keep my fleet at a formidable size. But as i encountered the Borg (without reading the strategy guide first) i was overrun by dozens of Spheres and Cubes together with a tactical Cube and i only had 4 Akiras, 1 Steamrunner and 2 Sovreigns left. i had to wait far to long to get warp-in ships, so i got defeated, because i couldnt build more ships. I hat plenty of resources, but i just couldnt spend them on anything but plattformes, wich dont deal enough damage, when attacked by a great number of Cubes and Spheres.

So, how do i regain supplies? Is it possible at all?

i am also new and i didnt notice how to regain supplies until late game, I believe in the build menu of the starbase you can buy supplies its discreetly hidden away from the ship building icons but it is there it kinda looks like red boxes with a rotation arrow
