I think that could be very annoying for your ally if they also wanted to build ships from their own shipyard.

Allied repair is a nice feature, does not cost too much and researches fairly quickly and definitely worth getting in team games especially at shipyards near expansions.

Anyway, you are God's voice?  Guess that makes you the Megatron?

Good points ruanek, and loki. Building at your allies base would take up Their space. And it would cost resources, to have an additional yard there and at your own. Maybe not a good idea. But in general. What if you made it, in a 2 v 2, that one person doesnt defend his base at all, and uses everything to harass the enemy.

The other player builds a small force at both bases, and then sends out ships to help his teammate.

One player plays offense, the other defense. But the defensive player would still be offensive. So really, its just that the one player only attacks, and never bothers leaving ships behind to defend.

But these ideas seem to have been squashed admittedly enough. Without being able to share resources as was pointed out to me, as I thought you could put multiple mining stations around a moon to share it... but only one beam per moon stops this idea. And so some other thoughts of mine fall a part when it comes to team play, but ... still, very interested in a planned idea between two players. Something unexpected they go for right at the beginning.

There is a similar kind of strategy that is used in online play but not as extreme as you are suggesting.

Its when one player is the Borg and all allies agree that they will feed spare resources to the Borg player so he (or she) can get very early sphere or even early cube.  Can be a risky strategy though because it means they have to scale back on their own production.

A safer variant would be simply to let the Borg player build up resources on their own and the other players protect his stuff as well as their own.

having a borg player build nothing while the others try defend probably wont work against clever players. it would be 3v2.

so I uncover it,only two miners are enough for nonstop beam on moon mining. If the mining station is at closest possible distance to the moon and there is nothing blocking the way, then 2 are more than enough.
When one miner ends its work, other one is already flying some time around moon at activate its beam instantly the moment first miner is full

Ok, if you think two are enough, go for it.

dob, if u actually read that link loki gave u, you would realise that 2 miners is not enough.

3 miners per moon.

2 miners will nearly always leave a gap.

the third miner will pay for itself after a few loads.

I was thinking about why somebody can experience the gap with two miners... I think its becose of minig station placement.Getting it closest to the moon possible isnt enough, miners usuallly enter from bottom side.So even if build your station at closest possible distance perfectly centered but with entering place at wrong position the whole mining route is little bit longer +  in online battles you dont spend 40 seconds finding the besg possible placement of mine.... this is the cause of gap I think.

*sigh*  Ok, believe what you believe, but I am pretty sure (and so are a majority of the really experienced players) that there is a gap even with optimal placement.  I know what you are talking about, its either perfectly above for quick entry or perfectly below for quick exit (are we still talking about mining here or sex?)  :D

There is still a gap.
