How'd you guys do it? I've been playing real players a lot more recently and it's something I've never seen the AI do before so I wasn't really prepared for it, and everytime it happens I tend to lose simply because I end up keeping all my ships (I usually play kingons) around my base for defense.

It really makes kingon hit&runs hard.

Any advice/tips?

get a few ships up, do some cloak run attacks on there mining, take out there trilithium miner first, recloak, get the hell out of there

repeat as much as neccesary

Actually really thats what seems to work, fed buildings cost a good amount of tri, especially support ships, and a stand alon descent isnt to much of a threat, and neither is a few warp in ships, but the kligons cloak, speed, and firepower, make them perfect for hit and run attacks against ships especially miners

Happened to me 2 days ago and I was Klingon too. Both Federation with warpin and Romulan with Rhienns rushed me twice. From that I lost 2 bops and 1 miner :P
Though their strategy was a bit off, since they tried to kill of the minings right next to my main base, so they werent able to move from that one spot.
I delt with it with kjbaqj (or whatever, the ktinga look alike) and bops. I built a yard right off and started producing those kjbaqjs and then I extended the yard and started building bops. You can take the bops out to hit-and-run strikes and keep the others near your base as they have beam vessles and can deal with warpins fairly easy.

Just attack those warpins with your ships and when 1 is getting low on health just cloak and get it to repair. When you build more ships, bring them to the fight, just keep doing that and you should be fine IMO.

Also if your having problems in a team match, it doesnt hurt if your ally helps you a bit :)

What I do if I'm Klngons or Romulans is to send a scout to his base and watch the advancement of my opponant. I build up a fleet and attack before he has the chance to warpin. That way he'll send warpins to his base and not to your's. Also when you see the ships warpin and you're most likely will be out gunned. Immediately cloak your units before he gets control over them.

my only advice (not even sure how effective it is)  would be to build a shipyard at the v.start of the game before everything else.

My advice is in my guide. I posted it sometime looong ago on the forums though. It should be in the strategy section somewhere if you don't want to download the strategy guide.

ugh, I found out the hard way.  Atleast for now, one bug ship ram per ship, maybe two for the descent.  That really stunk, when I found out what happened to my warpin ships.  All gone. *shivers*

I never played as a Klingon on multiplayer, but I found a warp in rush quite easy to deal with, and it even gives away free ships! I just used rhienns to kill the shields, then used my starbase, or other nearby structure, to capture it, if the ship started running with low crew, id risk the rhienns and finish the boarding party. They make excellent decoy vessesl if captured and used correctly :)
