Wasn't the Warbird called the B-type Warbird, not the B-4 Tyler?
In the official Card Game (which I TOTALLY played in middle school) the Romulan Shuttle, but not the Talon, was called the "Romulan Science Vessel" and was stronger than the Pi. It's not entirely canon but was completely official. Hard to say really where they fit in.
The D'Deridex we all know and love is the B-Type. I could swear that there were multiple versions of Warbirds out there and that the A-Type was the D'Deridex minus the lower wing. It was a predecessor obviously and weaker, but I think maybe that was only in the Card Game too ... When I made my own mod for A1 I had A, B, and C types with varying purposes which was alot of fun as you tended to see more of the Warbirds on the battlefield that way
