Very nice indeed. To me this shows that some good cinematics can really change how a game feels.

I had that same feeling when I got about halfway through the Federation Campaign. The game feels like Star Trek... but it just doesn't as well :/
Can't really complain though, I loved being able to command the USS Sovereign :D

This is because on the one hand, STO's visuals are so colorful that you might confuse it with a Lego-game sometimes.
On the other hand, the so promising looking FE-missions are... well. Very much copies of original TV-plots with different setting and characters. And ... well... things like Breen who are illustrated more than they should be (the helmet with the damaged-Drive-in-voice wasn't there for fun imo).
Then of course, the game lacks really good ship designs and depth of story in many points. BUT: A very funny and great aspect of this game are the parts where you have to actually read the dialogues when it comes to.. mixing up a correct hypospray for certain treatments or when you have to really work through encrypted data to encode or access it... that's the good technobabble-stuff :D

I liked STO, But the Nerfing has probably gotten worse.
I remember when Attack Pattern Omega III gave you +50% Weapon Dmg, AND it blocked Tractor Beams! Now its very little, but it still blocks tractors, so its still worth having. There was also VIRAL MATRIX, It was a real pain, i never experienced it in combat, because i was slow to level. But it was murdered. nobody uses it now.
They've nerfed so much, they nerfed the special Bird of Prey, They've Nerfed more, but i cant think about it.
OH YEAH, They Nerfed Self Destruct, because people used to wait for noob ships to come from the tutorial, and then self destruct in their faces (it was funny :P) but no more! no more!....

All the nerfing you listed sounds like its for the better.... maybe you like stupid/unbalanced things?

This just makes me want to play it more, maybe all the people who say it sucks are like you, in which case its probably a really good game.

Attack pattern omega is awesome! And viral matrix kicks  butt.... In pvp our whole team got sucked into one. Just have to get the right consoles and build mate ;). And yes those nerds were totally for the better

Viral Matrix is something I look forward to when being promoted to captain, although I'm better with deflector-based stuff until then.
