Quote about the Klingons
What's your favourite episode? How is romulan ale brewed? - Star Trek in general :-)

In "Way of the Warrior" from DS9 Bashir makes the comment that it "Isn't very honorable" for Klingon ships to lie in wait under cloak with the intention of ambushing ships picking up survivors from a previous fight.
Worf replies with, "In war, there is nothing more honorable than victory".
Just an interesting little tidbit of information about the Klingons from canon
.
I still prefer the Star Trek VI concept of the Klingons, myself

You mean the ones who hung out in their "can fire while cloaked" ship because there is nothing more honorable than victory?

Hells yeah!
They were busy starting a war where many glorious battles could be waged, silly! "Better to die on our feet than live on our knees!". Heh. I just think the DS9 Klingons were too easily manipulated by stupid Human reasoning and diplomacy

The Star Trek VI Klingons had clear and logical choices of their own to make

In Way of the Warrior the best warrions in the quadrant were unable to defeat few bajoran and starfleet officers in hand to hand combat.... that was amusing

Lol.
Don't make fun of the quality writing, consistency, and creativity that is DS9.
You'll hurt its feelings.
Besides, morons with Bat'leths getting picked off by energy weapons was part of the campy fun we've come to know and love from that show.

LOL, I remember when I first saw "The Way of the Warrior" on TV I thought: "Man, if they fight all their wars like that... how come Klingons aren't extinct already?"
Still, I think DS9 has some of the best writing in all of Star Trek. And I really like how they turned Worf from the rather silly big baby in TNG (Worf-Effect anyone?) to this deliverer of almost zen-like oneliners.

lol well one of them did give kira a paper cut. i think they also killed some redshirts
but yeah they got their arses kicked pretty badly.
i prefer to think that by fleetops time martok has been able to keep the peace, just about. so there is no war, but relations arent exactly great either. the khitomer accords probably still stand but it wouldnt take much to throw the region into war again.

The Klingons probably still bully weaker races like they do in novels for resources and slaves, though.
I never understood why people make fun of them using Bat'leths, they only used them at close range when they would work... most of them used Disruptors.

i have nothing about there weapons.. just it was funny to see mighty klingon warriors to drop that fast in hand to hand combat against "weaker" foes

well about batleths in comat
If a person has their weapon holstered the klingon can rush in and get the kill before they draw, as long as they are within range, the commonly quoted range is 21 feet.
But when they attacked ds9, everyone wasprepared and had their weapons out, so outside of the reach of the batleth they would be shot easily. We saw them beam into ops, most preferring to use batleths, and get shot. Only small numbers used disruptors and killed redshirts.
Ds9 should have put forcefields or transporter inhibitors around ops too.

They only used Bat'leths against the main characters (at close range) and Worf and Jadzia also used them more than Phasers (both to look good), so that was writing than Klingons being 'dumb'.
Even with weapons drawn, they can still be useful in a small area or beaming in close to the target.
Shame they didn't showall the battle... we could have a more complete picture.

Well if you watch Star Trek 6 again and look at Kronos 1's halls. You see they are rather wide and a good place to swing a bat'leth around while Enterprise A had small halls where klingons would have greater difficulty using multiple warriors in close quarter combat. Just something I noticed when watching it. (Smaller sleeping quarters= larger hallways for better bat'leths fights. Klingons know their priorities)
