If i can remember correctly

Phaser arrays are the strips that can fire in any direction across the strip

where as banks seem to be able to fire in one direction and seem to run out of energy alot quicker

example

Phaser Array - Galaxy class, Uss Voyager

Phaser Bank - Constitution, Miranda ( like in ST the wrath of Khan

I do remiber Phaser Bank fiering in uther drections. From what have observed is that banks come from a fixed pont wile arrays as 4 of 11 posted are a bit better at being abule to fier in difrect derections.
