New Trek Series?
What's your favourite episode? How is romulan ale brewed? - Star Trek in general :-)

Well, i think they should return to the future, as in Nemesis-era. But maybe (and I guess this is sort of similar to the section 31 idea) they would be a group of people who weren't actually associated with any one particular area. Or maybe they would have their headquarters on some planet, but the majority of their time would be spent out and about, performing, i dunno, some kind of mission...or whatever. Ok, that sounded really stupid. just a though. ^_^

That wasn't stupid at all. Heck, it's twice as good as anything the folks down at paramount have come up with in the last ten years! Well, I know that isn't saying much, but take my word for it; it's a good idea.

yes it is. I'd really like to see a series that plays not in space only. Some missions from a planet as main base sounds very, very good for me. And there don't have to be space battles all the time. they could also show a planetary conflict and missions on planets to find a secret which was hidden for ages and has something to do with the planetary conflict that some day escalates. That smells smells like a trilogy... muhaha! writeall! where are you!

how about they give startrek a rest for 5 years and come back with something based on the ENT C era
we all know how it died but the times must have been great even the ENT B woulda been interesting to say the least
and lets not forget your goody oldy Titan
or ofcourse we could always start fresh new ship, new cast, new name like the USS ---------

Maybe we could have a Mirror Universe series?

You know the way that at the end of Nemesis the USS Titan was sent with a task force to negotiate a peace treaty with Romulus?I would love a series where the Klingons get ****** off with that and they declare war with both the Federation and the Romulans. But if they took it from the Enterprises or Titans point of view it would be poor, but as you guys said have a random ship as the main ship of the series.

I've got it!
Five people, with their own complex histories are brought together by some event which now, despite early tensions between them, forces them to work together. As the series progresses they become intimate friends. The members are:
1: A Betazoid woman, who was a starfleet captain but left when her husband was tragically killed. She now travels space as a freelancer.
2: An old Reman war veteran who won many victories over the jem'hadar, which granted him a certain amount of trust among the romulans, making his escape from them easier when they attempted to send back the remans to Remus after the war was over.
3: A romulan woman who was once associated with the lower ranks of the Tal'shiar, she left the star empire and served time as a pilot aboard several ships before arriving at her current position.
4: A Vulcan male who was not satisfyed (logically) with a position in starfleet and turned to the stars alone.
5: A Bajoran boy (around Jake's age in the mid seasons of DS9) who's family was killed by Cardassians and had to become a man "the hard way".
I don't know yet what the major event might be, but my idea is that it would begin with them seperately being shown going about what they were doing before the "event" happens, then, by the second or third episode, they find themselves forced together. Before the 5th or 6th episode, they claim a ship which they slowly find ways to upgrade as the series progresses. As they settle into a crew, the betazoid takes the con, the reman as the tactical officer, romulan as pilot, vulcan as doctor and science officer, and bajoran as sort of "operational manager", doing just about everything else that needs doing (has a limited knowledge of engines). My idea is that they will be less confined to these roles than on a federation starship, having a broader and less specific range of skills. Also, I'd like to emphasize that the reman will be old and somewhat 'wise", as well as a formidable fighter; and the primary tension will be between him and the romulan. The bajoran, who is highly religeous, and the vulcan will serve as a base for all sorts of philosophical interaction.
Finally, there should be a starfleet admiral (with her own ship) who will be a reocurring guest character (although not until at least the 13th or 14th episode) and will serve as sort of a starfleet connection to the series, oh and she knew the betazoid before she left starfleet. As you might have guessed, I also have no idea what their names should be. I also purposely left out humans from the main cast (other than the admiral). Actually, I think I'm going to write series of novels based on this! ( unless of course they turn my idea into a series
)
Thoughts?
Tell me you really like this idea and I might make you a guest character for one of the episodes!
Oh, and just some more details:
1: This event won't just put them together, as their strong tensions at first would cause them to almost immidiately go their seperate ways. It will actually cause something they have to fix because it coincides with their personal stories somehow, or somethinf along those lines, and they have to work together to accomplish their goal.
2: Will primarily take place in the alpha and beta quadrants.
3: Unlike previous star trek series where every episode is a completely different story (besides "to be ontinued" ones), I'm looking for more continuity, sort of like Battlestar galactica. I think there should still be a unique sub-theme to each episode, but the main theme (Voyager's would be 'getting home") should be much stronger. Of course, there will be the occasional episode which will be a break from the main theme. So basically a balance between the streamlining of the BG, and the new story each time thing of previous ST series.
4: My plan is for the central story to resolve by the end of the second season, but it will leave people on a cliffhanger and move into something else.
5: Why am i talking as though this is really going to happen?? Somebody help me!

i like that idea, but you have to have one human as a main part of the crew/cast. like maybe an ex-maquis resistance fighter or something like that.

1: Why?
2: The admiral will be human.
