I haven't seen Star Trek quite like that before!

To me, it looks good, but who knows  :D

It looks cool, Ill give them that. But it seems to me that they are trying to redo Star Trek in a new shinyer image. I have to say Im not really a fan.

But hey, maybe the movie will be successful and maybe we can get a new star trek Armada game out of it :D
Other than that, I dont see the plus side.

Both have their advantages, but we always like to reminisce about "the good ol days'. Plus, going back means they don't have to create entirely new weapons/history, and risk offending serious folk (although if they screw up old history, it is just as bad  :sweatdrop:)

Wouldn't this movie put Kirk as the ships first captian? I though the Enterprise was older than Kirk?

We'll find out...

I'm quite excited for a spicier version of TOS...the one thing that I'm not looking forward to is that of the "OC meets action meets Star Trek" genre. I'm pretty excited to see it, nonetheless. I just don't want my Star Trek to become a teen drama...

Bruce Greenwood has been cast as Cpt. Pike, so we know they haven't erased him.  Also, I believe that there is supposed to be some kind of change to the past, so certain things are in fact meant to be different; that is why Nimoy is in it as himself also-he has to correct changes.

To be honest I'm not sure how much of what I've said is speculative and how much has been confirmed.

Oh crap/wow, Trek is totally screwed/set now.  This well surely be the death/new life of this franchise.

Hahaha, lol, that's basically what I'm thinking!

I guess it's new and I guess it will be different from everything TOS is in our memories. But since times have changed a lot some facelifting like this might exactly be what Trek needs. I'm not sure what to think about the story and I don't know if I should like it or not but I'll give it a chance, though I'm quite sure I won't go to cinema once it's out - finally.
