Favorite Side : Defense or Ofense?
What's your favourite episode? How is romulan ale brewed? - Star Trek in general :-)

I like Defense. I find it fun to let my bud keep the enemy busy while I build my romulan border. No one shall cross my border! If you manage to you will be blown up! hehe
Only my buddies may pass, and my own ships.

Defence. I think like a Starfleet captain and am reluctant to risk the safety of any of my ships.

I agree with both of you, an allout attack is unbecoming of a starfleet officer.

hmm.... i am relucntant to attack until i know where i am going who i am attacking, and have a good sized fleet+ some backup, i may send a small attack in early game to try to overwhelm, and if i have an enviorment that is easy to defend, such as only 1-3 openings into my base, then i will set up lots of defenses, however in an open game i set up a small amount of defense and more ships, i will not take a risk if it endangers vital parts of my base, or a great amount of ships, however i will take a risk to save a part of my base, howver if my fleet to save that mining coony would most likly be destryoyed, i justr decomission (need of many, outweigh need of few) i dont want a whole fleet gone for nothong

Depends if I am playing FFA, 2 v 2 (or more), or head to head. 1 v 1 I harass with destroyers, and keep on harassing until the end with small/large breaks depending on the race. 2 v 2, generally harassment early on, then a tech up, then huge climactic battle. FFA... I usually err on the side of caution depending on who I am fighting against. If I know that at least one of the people I am fighting against is a good harasser... I harass them first, and pump out ships to wipe them out early game. If both are good harassers... I usually am freaked out, and wait (because I know the instant I leave my base, the other player will take out my mining). If neither harass... well, they call the shots
I find that you can usually tell who will win in the first 5-10 minutes of the game (sometimes sooner; depends on their build order too).

i dont like playing 3 hours the same game so i go offence and try to end it

True. I have noticed that it seems to take forever to end the game. Then again, it's fun to have epic battles against the borg and their mighty cubes.

I tend to stick to Defense just because I really like to outline my base with torpedo platforms, and outposts. That and I don't mind a long game. That is where the savegame feature comes in handy.

I just like to have massive fleets (i.e 500+ ships) that I can zoom into and watch fly past......that's really all I do

Harass with capitial ships with destroyers as cannon fodder, and take as much space as I can while keeping enemy resources diverted to defending the home base and not expansion. So, I'd say defense.
