Assimilation Fanfic

Someone has made a guess at how the Borg screw their victims: C25 Academy lectures: Borg Assimilation.

While it's not backed by canon (not that there really is any), it seems fairly decent... if short.

interesting read.

i always wondered about how they could replenish nanobots into the borg drones that do a lot of assimilating in one go, do they have to go back to their alcove to stock up?
as 5 million each time sounds like a lot to use and there is only so much metallic elements in the body..

I imagine, without getting too icky here, it's much like the production of red blood cells, lymphocytes, sperm cells etc in the human body. Nanites can't be much bigger than that in order to function.

They could have a mini-replicator built in that's recharged during Regeneration. Using the body metals could just be to get the assimilation set up.
