if you mean models = meshes = vessels i use 3dsmax for them :-)
if you mean some kind of odf editor, i use the best of all: windows notepad!

I think that the EditPad is better and has more fuction than widows notepad. If anyone is interested you can get it here.

Hey, looks nice. I am currently using UltraEdit but EditPad seems to have a nicer UI.

no, there is a 'small 3ds max' called gmax which is free, you should find it on http://www.discret.com

Not just that...you could also use Milkshape. There is a 30 day free trial version, but then after that you have to pay.

not any more it's now 5 days just enough to make a ship

So in other words, have all your friends install the trial on their comps and hope that each ship doesn't take much time to complete.
