hi all i have installed a XP VM on my vista laptop but i can not play armada 2 on it keeps coming up with it not detecting a directx device is there away to sort this

Ehrm... maybe try to install DirectX on your VM?

thanks installed directX but still failed

the error message is :

Star Trek Armada II:Initialization Failed

Graphics Initialization failed. No compatible Direct3D8 hardware accellerator detected.

i think the VMWare virtual grafikcard does not support DirectX Acceleration.

But lets try this: Have you installed the VMWare Tools or only a Standart VGA Card (take a look in the Hardware Manager of your VM to see that)

If their is a standart VGA Card, install the VMWare Tools

Also you can check your Graficcard with dxdiag and see if its supports 3D.

ok i got FObeta2 working on Vista but the noxter AI will not work
