...however we'd prefer to not let the player decide when it does.

That's the rest of the sentence. ;)  Ray jumps up and down for joy in that thread afterward. :D

I know, and thats the part that intreages me.  however, the important part, is that it was promised to him, and yet he still keeps on asking.

It was really just a reminder to him, since he obviously forgot.(its his own thread too )

There are no promises :) It is just something that will happen when the devs decide how to implement it - obviously since the Galaxy is designed in two bits, it is capable of separation :) Since Optec usually is in charge of determining how actual gameplay turns out, when he announces something... then it would be more close  ^-^ . When it jumps off the drawing board and actually becomes a feature, I'm sure it'll either be announced, or make it into a patch for someone to discover  B) . Until then, mileage may vary.

I'm sure Ray didn't forget - he just wants it NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW  NOW ... did I get my point across?  :whistling:

no. :D

And I"m sure he won't be happy with it even when it gets in.

then he needs to play bridge commander with mods

lol the galaxy in vanilla BC was kinda weak i thought (then again most ships were), but then get some mods and its the exact opposite, completely OP.

Those mods for Bridge Commander are a disaster. You can't even notice when you're attacked because the shields are almost invisible.

BC mods are good, at least the many hundreds of them on BCFiles are. Especially the ones that move the Galaxy's Torpedo launcher out of the Impulse Engine.

Not that seeing shield impacts actually has any effect on the game.

BC mods were good on their own, but combine a few and stuff goes crazy. as they dont balance together lol.

i downloaded a scimitar, and an enterprise E. and the ent could easily kill the scimitar lol.

i downloaded a valdore-type and it was pathetic, stock ships could sometimes kill it.

Mods are always rather bias or with poorly-done hardpoints. Non-Trek ships made favortism even more obvious.

Just makes the Kobayashi Maru mod look more impressive.

indeed km is amazing.

the stargate ships had that bias obvious. nearly all of them could crush stock ships

Kobayashi Maru is the culprit, where you can't see the shields, nor can you tell while you are being attacked.
Maybe they fixed that now.
But back on topic: Hey, where's Ray ?

What do you expect when Stargate ships tend to shoot projectiles plot armor? It's really, really thick plot armor too. Even worse with Asgard Beams, those things tear thru the shields of ships designed by nearly-omnipotent beings.
Weird that Stargate fans would be biased against Star Trek, Stargate borrowed heavily from it in both story devices (Goa'uld are obviously the aliens from TNG's story about that conspiracy in Starfleet command) and technology ideas (to the point where the TNG:Technical Manual's explanation of how cloaking and shielding work would explain how ships in Stargate can interchange cloaks with shields.)
