Out of curiosity, is anyone else planning to see the new Thor movie?

I must say... the trailer just let's me yawn... looks very average. Capatain America and Green Lantern trailers look much more promising.

intresting, looks like your standard action movie. dont remember any robots in norse mythology though lol. also he appeared to use his hammer exclusively for hitting stuff, when in original lore he could chuck it at people's heads and it would return like a boomerang :D

There was one part where he threw it and it came back. They seem to be going the standard sufficiently advanced alien route.

Looks legit! I'm excited. Wondering how much of the Avengers that they'll introduce in this movie too, considering its all supposed to tie...

A Tony Stark appearance near the end about a team getting together.

Past that, seems S.H.I.E.L.D. is playing a bigger role than previous movies, as a precursor to the avengers movie.

We may get some appearances from other avenger characthers earlier in the movie too since its getting closer to the avengers movie too. If they're smart they will also have iron man or the Fantastic 4 or the hulk or another avenger on the news, even if its just a clip from a previous movie, setting the stage of it all happening at the same time.

Remember this isn't Thor, Thor.  This is Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's alien Norse mythology Thor.  Which is why all the racist bitching about a black Hiemdall are retarded as they ever are!  Also, Destroyer (the aforementioned robot shooting lazer beams) is totally in the comics and is playing out very similar to the story arc that it appeared in.

I don't think this is going to be the best movie out this year, but it looks a good deal better than Green Lantern at this point.  That just looks like a ton of crappy CGI in a dick joke vehicle for Ryan Reynolds.  Do I really want to see Ryan Reynolds belittle Sinestro with a dick joke?  No.

The French Thor trailer actually features a few extras. Just a few though.

Guess I should also note, I'm disappointed he called it Earth and not Midguard like he does in the comics.  But other than that, I'm planning on seeing this.

definitely, they should have offered michael shanks the part so he would have played 2 thors lol.

i was also disappointed he used earth instead of midgard, but i guess technically midgard is a world on earth, the one containing humans, so i guess he could have meant that.

That actually woulda been pretty cool. Plus hes a good actor. He can play arrogant AND smart, both of which fit thor. And as we saw in SG1, he's capable of getting ripped for a role.

Also, portmans female sidekick is hot.

Ill deffinitly watch this, who knows if its good I may go to a theater for the first time in ages, unless the captain america one comes out first. I've hopes for that one.

And Greyusurper as for his calling it earth not midgard, it make sense really, he wouldnt live in a vaccum, makes sense he'd keep some track of earth.

I like the whole 'any tech sufficiently advanced appears as magic to those that do not understand it' play they're doing, yet at the same time they are still having the powers basically be the same, just be easier to relate to for a modern audience, after all marvel comics are not like some other story lines, they are regularly relaunched and rebooted (plus I never kept too much of a track with the comics) so as long as the movies are good and dont change things TOO radically it'll be good.
