I'm a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, so it's evident how I feel about the playoffs. The Steelers will make it to the Super Bowl and win it. GO STEELERS!!!

Hauptsache Bayern wird nicht Meister...

Oops, wrong "football". ;)

Have fun there on the other side of the big water.
And may the best team win. :)

Waiting for the next Nipplegate...

Just to clarify things for anyone else, the football that I mean by is American football, not the other football, a.k.a. soccer.

For those of you keeping track of the playoffs, my now ex-team was beaten by those d@mn yankee Patriots. I'm sick of seeing them go to the darn super bowl. There is some good news, though. The Philadelphia Eagles, led by the outstanding Donovan McNabb, will stand in the way of those g*dd@$# newenglanders. I won't be seeing the game, for there's little point of seeing a game of any sort if you don't have a home team on there if any. I'll be hoping to see Philadelphia win their first ever SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP!!! B)

Didnt kennedy say that when he came to germany???

Oh BTW the correct sentance would be Ich bin berliner, I think

Weil ich sehr schlect Deutsch kann, leave me alone if I'm wrong :P

Both is correct. There is only a slight difference.

"Ich bin ein Berliner." is just a bit more emphasized (sp?).

It's more like "I am a real citizen of Berlin.", while "Ich bin Berliner." sounds more like "I'm from Berlin." without emphasizing the meaning but rather just stating it.

Here is the complete speech: http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/j...inberliner.html

see that is why I think that we should all learn latten, that way we would have a basis for almost all western communications

No offense, but I think you mean Latin. Yeah, it's pretty universal. It's used in Biology to identify different species of life. It's also pretty hard. I took up Spanish, and that's based on Latin.

Deshalb hab ich ja gesagt: "Hauptsache Bayern wird nicht Meister."

Für mich sind das Berliner. ;)

For all others:

That thing above is like a donut/doughnut, but without the hole, often it has some jam as a filling. Usual names are "Berliner", "Krapfen", "Berliner Krapfen" and depending on in which region of Germany you ask, they may be called "Fasnachtkiechelcher", "Kräppel", "Funkenküchlein", "Nonnenpfoten", "Küchli", "Liwanzen", and probably by many other names.

Strange topic though... :D

No, you got me absolutely right. :)

Must have to do with the fact that I'm from northern Germany,
and it could be that Oliver Kahn plays a role in it, too. ;)

But it's "Bayern München", Munich is the English name for München.

A little hint concerning your German: It's "schlecht", spoken like "shlecht" with the ch sounding similar to the Scottish sound in loch or the ending of Bach, just a little smoother.
