Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

Hi guys, I just bought Star Trek DAC for the PC (hey that rimes!) and it appears that my video card isn't good enough. What do you guys think is a good enough card for it? Do you think this one would be good enough?

Newegg.com - XFX PVT44AWANG GeForce 6200 256MB 64-bit GDDR2 AGP 8X Video Card

Thanks

Have a look at the system requirements: Star Trek: D-A-C system requirements - System Requirements

I fear the 6200 is weaker than the 6600 which is presented as minimum requirement. However, I'm not an expert.

Yeah, the box has all of the tech stuff on it, but I don't know what half of it means. I have been considering buying this thing to use both DAC and Star Trek Legacy.

it will easily handle legacy. as long as the rest of your computer matches those requirements for DAC.

i can handle legacy on a far weaker computer. if it is too slow, use the mod that removes nebulas from the single player game.

that card will take legacy on lower settings, on higher settings it has alot of graphic features (dynamic shadows, HDR lighting) that will kill cards not 512mb and over.

I suggets either turning settings down or getting an 8800 GT, cheap and powerful

that card has a pci-e connection, the card suggested by Fralo was an AGP card, presumably he has an AGP connection and needs an AGP card.

@dave denton: D-A-C stands for Deathmatch, assault, conquest, the three types of gameplay in the game.

i would love to play that game, but my laptop is not man enough, it does not have big cajones.
