Unfortunalty, though Star Trek promotes tolerance, it's fans don't.

don't generalize us all based on the few of us who know the truth about furries,

i know EWM is probably the most tolerant person i have ever come across, and he's a star trek fan.

Who said I was basing it on this alone? I've seen what happens when you get the more vocal Trekkies in a forum with fans of other Sci-Fi series.

Maybe 'not all of the fans' would have been a better way to put it?

Thanks Bob,

I think I saw a CSI about where a ferry fetish ended up with one member getting shot by a hunter by mistake.

Thanks for the kind remarks above.

For me if was kind of depressing leaning about haw that people can love each other for how they are and must make a costume to "get off". I have nothing what ever terns one on including ferry but when its because ones scared of being with another human thats sad.

Was it really a 'mistake'?

Yes, he thought it was an animal becasue the furry was drugged.

Don't turn that mistake into an anti-furry campain.

well,  what kinda anti-furry campaign? i would wholly support an anti-fursuiters campaign.

oh, and there was that one guy in arizona or new mexico who was high on 'shrooms, stumbled upon a gay furry fursuit orgy, then was mauled to death by a nearby bear, and the furries just kept fornicating and let the guy DIE!

And the irrational intolerance returns.

Lumpybob wrote:don't generalize us all based on the few of us who know the truth about furries,

That works both ways. I'm starting to understand why everyone hates Trekkies so much.

If a Trekkie let someone die, does that make all trekkies heartless?
posted on February 13th, 2009, 4:11 am
yes, but most of the trekkies i know of would at least attempt to save the person, not continue having gay fursuit buttsechs, completely ignoring the dieing guy.

Most? So you admit some would. That could be taken as a similarity, 2 furries did and some trekkies would.

every furry i have come across has been just, weird... hell, the one furry i regularly pass by in the halls insists people call him by some freakish name, and claims he isn't human....

while every trekkie i have met has been a basketful of awesome and pure win.

TL;DR  trekkies > furries

While a typical trekkie is often described as loud-mouthed, obnoxious, opinionated, unwilling to accepted being wrong, etc. Yes, I see the infinate 'win' there. What you described is being out of touch with reality and has nothing to do with being a furry. Some people just get carried away with things.

Do I smell a little bias?

In the immortal word of George Carlin... Why!?

Honestly, what have fursuiters (who make up a tiny percentage of the furry fandom, just by the way) ever done to you? :pinch:

Honestly, what is with this pathological hatred certain groups on the Internet (not in real life obviously... If you mention furries to most anyone IRL they'll just blink at you, having absolutely no idea what you're talking about) have of a harmless little group of people that spend their time socailising with people they actually have something in common with, drawing the occasional piece of artwork (which, I might remind everyone, you are hardly obliged to look at) and bringing in some money to Pittsburg's econonmy once a year? I don't get it, it just seems like massive waste of time to me... Whatever happened to live and let live?

I mean, if someone who happens to be a furry commits a crime, then fair enough, the law should deal with them on a case-by-case basis, just it does with everybody else... I just don't see the point in being fundamentally against a group of people who, by and large, haven't been shown to have done anything dangerous or illegal...

every furry i have come across has been just, weird... hell, the one furry i regularly pass by in the halls insists people call him by some freakish name, and claims he isn't human....

OK... So, this guy's somewhat eccentric... Has he done anything to harm or wrong you any way? Did he set fire to your lawn, expose himself in public, have sex with your pets? If so, call the police and they'll deal with it, if not, then the guy hasn't done anything wrong, so why the hell are you focusing your attention on him if you consider him "freaky"? If you dislike him that much, just avoid interacting with him unless you absolutely have to, that's what I'd do in such a situation...

If furries were causing a real problem, the main stream media would have absolutely no quams about crucifing them... But they don't... There is a reason why the MSM only reports on furries on the slowest of slow news days...

yes, but most of the trekkies i know of would at least attempt to save the person, not continue having gay fursuit buttsechs, completely ignoring the dieing guy.

The above indicates to me that you can't validly support your arguements, so you resort to bottom-of-the-barrel crudity... What you insinuate there is utterly beneath contempt... I shouldn't honestly have to tell you that people who happen to be furries are still people and would be just as likely to try and save a dying person as anybody else...

the reality is furry's are weird, and disturbing.  aint nothing going to change that.

Honestly, is that the best you can do? Is the fact that they're different honestly your strongest card?

...awesome comics such as Better Days.

I hate to break it to you, but Jay Naylor, the artist who draws the Better Days comics, also draws furry porn...

I find it hilarious that this thread is about a video that makes fun of Sony, and yet just because the video was on furaffinity everyone shifts to that subject. You humans are such an entertaining bunch, missing out on a funny video simply because a subject you dislike/fear/don't understand happens to be the host of the site.

Maybe no one's bothering to talk about it because stringing a whole lot of swear words together does not a funny video make... Just a theroy...
