Question On Digital Cameras

My dad recently got a Canon Powershot G6 with 7.1 Megapixels and 4x Optical Zoom.

When he turned it on, the lens extended, but when he turned it on after awhile the lens did not extend and the LCD panel said "Lens" I consulted the manual, and it said that it will appear that way only when the cover is covering the lens. But when my dad turned it on, it did NOT cover the lens..

What can it let from rendering the lens from opeing up all the way?

it is posible that the sensor that tells wether or not the lenz is on the camera is blocked...


oh, sorry i didn't see the 3rd post...
