Im getting an origins of the aliens kind of vibe is that what it is? or something unrelated that chair that came up looks like that thing from the film alien. Combine that with ridley scott and it looks like that new aliens film he said he would do.

Im almost certain that it is a prequal considering that weyland corp. is part of the alien movies and weyland corp or i think weyland himself owns the ship that you see in prometheus. There are alot of other things that seem to connect it as well but there is no yes or no answer to the question that i know of. Not yet anyway.

Indeed it is a prequel but there will be no xenos in the movie but we will see the "gorilla" to the xenos. Its mostly about the Space Jokey though.

Not really a fan of these apocalyptic movies.

Horror movie(like the original) would be more accurate.

Theres several spots where you have to pause/playback a few times to catch some interesting things.

0:14/0:18 A flashback to a long time ago?
1:05 Maybe reused from AVP?
1:30 Its hard to tell what "they" are but it seems kind web like.
1:35 Facehugger?
1:38 Looks like what will eventually be the queen to me.
2:00 Acid splash.
2:16 Space Jokey without the suit? Proto-xeno?

1:52 Tiny Worm thing going into dudes eye. Also note the pitch black pupils.
2:05 Worm like thing going through someonessuit into their arm.
2:06 Space Jokey? Infected crew member?

All I can say is Ridly Scott + new scifi movie = EPIC WIN!
