Pool rash!!! Help!?!?

Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

As some of you know, I became a home-owner as of last year.  What you may not know is this home has a pool!  Yeah.  It wasn't taken care of last summer, so I drained it, filled it, balanced out the chemicals, etc.  And now, I get a red, bumpy, itchy rash every time I get out of the pool.  It goes away after an hour or so and I am completely dry.  All my levels that I can measure are in check.  This never happened in any of my friends pools I swam in last year.  I know this is so far the off-topic that even the "small talk" forum should delete this thread!  :D  If anyone knows anything about pools or chemistry.....or medicine....please feel free to help me out!  Much obliged!  :borg:

Well, when I use to get a rash after swimming in a pool I put baby powder or something of the sort to help it go away.

Other than that I don't know what to tell you except google it xD

Is this a fiber-glass pool by any chance?

Hmm... do you use any sun cream or the like that may react with the chemicals?

I guess...
- you used too much chlorine
or
- there's still a rest of cleaning chemicals in the pool

Where do you get the rash? On your entire body?

Look up the ways that the active ingredients of the cleaners you used interact with other chemicals, and take a sample of the water and test it. That's all I can tell you :sweatdrop:

Does anyone else get any strange reactions to your pool or it just you? If it doesn't happen to anyone else it is probably something particular to you, and i would recommend going to your Dr. for an allergen workup. If it does happen to others you should probably get a pool care professional to go take a look.

What type of chemicals are you using in your pool and at what levels? I am the maintenance supervisor at a resort and part of my job is maintaining our 2 pools, may be able to help you if you can give me some more info.
